The Public Administration Reform Commission will start working by discussing with various parties at the field level including government employees.
Abdul Mueed Chowdhury, head of the commission, said this after the first meeting of the committee at the secretariat on Monday (October 14).
He said, ‘The first meeting was held today regarding the reforms. Just talked to each other for introduction. I will work on the reform for three months. How can we tell if the baby is a boy or a girl on the first day today? It is not possible.
‘Today we discussed what could happen in general. Now we will slowly process it, move forward. It’s supposed to be done in three months, so after two months I’ll really have an outline.’
The head of the commission said, ‘We have decided, we will discuss, we will go to different areas. I will listen to the people. I will listen to the local people who work. I will discuss with the chamber. We will start the real work by discussing these things.’
Lobbying in jobs is our reality, in many cases bribery is also involved. Do you want to bring reforms in this regard? When asked, Abdul Muayid Chowdhury said, ‘What can I do, how can I say it now? When asked what are your priorities, he said, ‘What the government has fixed is our priority. We will have a month to decide what our priorities will be. How do I say that today?’
Whether you can submit the reform recommendation report within three months? When asked, the convener said, ‘Government has given three months. We must try to do it within three months.’
