Comorian Minister of Agriculture welcomes the growth of the Moroccan agricultural sector

In a statement to the press following a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Mohamed Sadiki on the sidelines of the 33rd session of the Regional Conference of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for Africa (ARC33), Mr. M’Saidie indicated that his country wishes to benefit from Morocco‘s leadership and its successful experiences in the field of food.

He also specified that the Comoros face “great needs in terms of training”, noting that “we know that our Moroccan brothers have the means to help us on all levels to move forward”.

And added that the FAO regional conference for Africa organized “brilliantly” under the aegis of the Kingdom was an opportunity to examine ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and identify areas of common interest. .

For his part, Mr. Sadiki called for further capitalizing on these ties of friendship, by concretizing cooperation and expanding it to different areas of agriculture, in particular through specific agreements.

In this regard, the minister highlighted many promising areas of cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the sectors of aquaculture and the training of human resources in the agricultural field.

He further noted that this meeting was an opportunity for both parties to highlight the bonds of fraternity uniting Morocco and the Comoros, which, he noted, should materialize through expanded cooperation. in all sectors of agriculture.

The FAO regional conference for Africa, which continues until April 20, is being held under the theme “Resilient agri-food systems and inclusive rural transformation” and is intended to be a strategic regional platform focused on food security and rural development in Africa.

It sees the participation of ministers from African member states, representatives of observer countries, the African Union, donor organizations, civil society and the private sector.
