Competitors from 10 countries have applied to participate in the 11th edition of the international Olympic Taekwondo tournament “Ramus Sofia Cup”, which will be held on November 2 and 3 in the multifunctional sports hall of the Vasil Levski National Sports Academy. The registration period will end on October 27.
“Every year, the competition, which is aimed at children and adolescents, takes place at the beginning of November on the occasion of the Day of the People’s Wakers. And this year, in addition to a tournament in the Olympic discipline “sparring“, the program of the “Ramus Sofia Cup” will also include a tournament in the discipline “poomse” (form)”, noted Dimitar Mihailov, chief organizer of the competition.
“On a global scale, we are observing the positive trend of more and more people, especially children, choosing to practice taekwondo, because of the values it affirms – respect, discipline, and also charges with extraordinary energy,” added Mihailov, who is the vice president of the Bulgarian Taekwondo Federation ( Olympic version) and the only Bulgarian member of a commission in the World Taekwondo Federation.
