Nellikuppam-Nellikuppam protest against the private sugar factory by the farmers’ association. Conch blowing protest was held in front of Nellikuppam EIT, Bari Sugar Mill on behalf of All India Farmers Union. Plant management should stop working against farmers. 4000 rupees per ton of sugarcane announced by the Tamil Nadu government. The government should monitor the weighing of sugarcane. Direct sales to farmers should be done instead of selling mill waste through brokers. Sugarcane cutting wages and vehicle rental should be borne by the mill itself. They protested against the official who acted against the farmers by blowing conch shells. District President Sivakumar led the protest. District Secretary Shekhar, Commune, District Secretary Durai, Devanathan, Jayapal, Deivasikamani and many others participated.
