Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and local Member of Parliament Saber Hossain Chowdhury suddenly visited the site after receiving information about the construction of a house in violation of government regulations on Titas Road in Dakshina Bansri of Dhaka South City Corporation.

During the inspection, he found that the construction of houses continued without leaving any space on the side of the road, leaving the construction materials where they were, and without covering the under-construction houses for safety. He ordered Dhaka South City Corporation Executive Magistrate Jahangir Alam to take action as per the rules.

The Executive Magistrate fined the owner of the house a total of Tk. Executive Magistrate Jahangir Alam imposed a fine of Tk 1 million and twenty four thousand for damaging the road owned by Dhaka South City Corporation during the construction of the retaining wall of the building under construction and Tk 100,000 for keeping the construction materials on the road during the construction of the house.

Apart from this, in violation of Rajuk’s setback law, the required space from the road was not kept during the construction of the house. Buildings under construction are not covered for safety. As these matters are under the purview of Rajuk, the attention of Rajuk will be drawn to take necessary measures.

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury said at this time, legal action will continue to be taken against those who violate the government regulations or pollute the environment. He urged everyone to follow the law to improve the quality of the environment.
