In Saudi Arabia, preparatory work has begun for the construction of a cube-shaped skyscraper, which will become the largest building on the planet. Bloomberg reports this, Day.Az reports with reference to Gazeta.ru.
The building will be called Mukaab, the length and height of the walls will be a record 400 meters. It will feature the world’s first fully enclosed skyscraper, complete with a dome that will project holographic images designed to transport visitors to the building’s planned hotel to locations around the world.
The developer, New Murabba Development Co., has already excavated more than 10 million cubic meters of soil. Next year, contracts will be concluded that will allow the building and surrounding area to be equipped with entertainment facilities, educational institutions, medical centers and a stadium with 45 thousand seats.
The building will become the centerpiece of New Murabba, an area expected to become a new destination in Riyadh. Completion of construction is scheduled for 2030.
