The Consumer Ombudsman’s Office (DC) hears a complaint for breach of contract and activates an investigation ex officio to determine if there are more consumers affected by contracting a stay through “airbnb”.

According to the consumer’s complaint, the Doña Angelina hostel, located in Chalchuapa, increased the contracted value of the stay, the amount of which was previously paid by the consumer, for which inspection teams from the Consumer Ombudsman’s Office (DC) proceed this late to document the complaint of the affected person and investigate ex officio if there are more affected consumers to restore their rights.

The indicated conduct constitutes breach of contract, according to art. 43 literal e, of the Consumer Protection Law (LPC), with a penalty of up to 200 minimum wages.
