Continual rain echoes : Low milk production

by time news

Gampam: Milk production has decreased by 10 percent in the district due to continuous rains and changes in climate. In the last few days, there has been continuous rain in the district and there has been a change in the temperature. Cold wind and heavy rains are causing common viral fever and cold disturbances to cattle and humans. Due to this, the production of milk in cows and buffaloes is decreasing. In this regard, Veterinarian Dr. Selvam said, “Cows and buffaloes will reduce drinking water during rainy season. Then the production of milk will decrease. It will gradually improve.” Sumbham Agriculture Association Secretary Sukumaran said, “Dairy cows do not eat feed properly. A cow that gives 20 liters of milk gives only 18 liters. “Production has decreased by 10 percent. If the climate changes, milk production will stabilize,” he said.
