COP 28: The Head of State exchanges with the President of the ADB

Dubai, November 30, 2023 In his diplomatic agenda on the sidelines of COP 28, the President of the Transition, President of the Republic, Head of State, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema spoke today with Doctor Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB).
The objectives and vision of the CTRI, the preservation of biodiversity and the leading role of Gabon in this area constituted the essential points of the exchanges between the Head of State and his host.
After immersing himself in the road map and priorities of the Government of the Transition focused on the creation of jobs for young people, urbanization and the restoration of the social fabric of Gabonese people, the President of the AfDB spoke with the President of the Republic the mechanisms for valorizing Gabon’s forest resources and carbon credits with a view to creating
wealth for the benefit of indigenous populations.
In addition, Doctor Adesina reiterated his encouragement to General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema and the Gabonese authorities for the settlement of Gabon’s debt to the AfDB. A commitment which testifies to the ambition of the CTRI to settle Gabon’s debts vis-à-vis international financial bodies, to consolidate public finances and to boost
the national economy.
