Pathanamthitta: Two youths have been arrested in a case of copying bathroom scenes of a young woman on a mobile phone for rejecting a front request on Facebook. Sarath S. Pillai (19) and Sethu Nair (23) alias Visakh of Paduthodu Panalikkuzhi were arrested.
Sethunayar had asked Sarath to copy nude photos of the girl after she rejected an application to be a friend on Facebook. Sarath, who broke into the house where the woman and her daughter were staying alone at 8 pm on the 26th, was filming nude scenes on his mobile phone through the ventilation of the bathroom. He then went home and sent it to Sethu.
Sarath went home and sent it to a friend, despite realizing that he had seen the woman filming the scenes on his mobile phone. The next day, the two were arrested by the police on the same day in a case registered on the basis of the woman’s statement given at the station. Their mobile phones were also seized by the probe team. Sethu Nair was arrested on the basis of the confession of the first accused. Sarath S Pillai told the police that he did this at his behest.
When police questioned Sethu Nair in detail after his arrest, it was revealed that he had done so with Sarath due to resentment over his refusal to send a front request on Facebook. When he realized that the police were investigating the incident, he removed Sarath from the phone’s contact list.
On the instructions of district police chief Swapnil Madhukar Mahajan, the accused’s phones were sent to the Thiruvananthapuram forensic lab for further evidence. The team comprises Inspector Sajeesh, SI Anoop, ASI Vinod, SCP Girish Babu, Jobin John and Women Civil Police Officer Shebi.
