The rise in prices in Estonia has not spared cosmetics stores either, forcing buyers to wait for promotions and look for cheaper alternatives. Compared to 2022, prices for cosmetics have increased by 10–30%, writes ERR.

Rising prices for food products have long been nothing new to anyone, but if buyers watch the cost of a liter of milk or a loaf of bread more closely, then the rise in prices for shampoo, toothpaste or mascara is less noticeable, since these goods are purchased less often.

Ivo Joost, owner of Joost-Level OÜ, which sells perfumes and cosmetics in the online store Loverte, told ERR that the increase in sales tax did not affect the final prices of their products, but all suppliers increase prices for all goods once a year. At the same time, it is impossible to single out price increases for a specific group of goods, since the increase in prices for cosmetics is of a general nature.
