Problems with airlines
I’ve been thinking lately about how airlines have “unforeseen” problems when it comes to delays and cancellations. I mean, coincidentally, the last four or five times I’ve taken a plane, there was a delay of 2 hours and 59 minutes. Yes, exactly 2 hours and 59 minutes. Opportunity?
To formalize complaints and request compensation it is necessary to have proof that the flight was delayed by more than 3 hours. From there, after a lot of paperwork and paperwork, you can receive financial compensation based on the kilometers between your starting point and your destination, among other variables.
I am always attentive to the exact minutes of flight delay, taking photographs from the airport or from the window. Sending messages to record the time, etc. However I was never able to claim compensation because there wasn’t enough time. Could the airline delays be intentional? Giulia Beiras. Vigo.
The footprint of the Camino
Since I was a child I spent summers in the Galician town where my grandparents were born, O Pedrouzo, one of the stops on the Camino de Santiago. I remember when coming to the city meant peace and tranquility, and how curious it was to see the arrival of some pilgrim seeking rest and conversation in the calm of the place. In recent years this has changed. Mass tourism has arrived and the simplicity of the town has given way to souvenir shops, hostels and bars, all oriented towards tourists; Many pilgrims seem to look no further, seeking only entertainment and a superficial experience, forgetting that the Camino is much more.
The Camino has brought good things to the town: it has made it grow and given new opportunities to its inhabitants. But I hope we don’t forget the importance of preserving the essence of a country, since the true Path is its people and its authenticity. Sara Urzainqui Sanjuas. Barcelona.
Supermarkets and the elderly
A study by the Galician Red Cross reflects the importance that supermarkets have for the elderly, since they are not only points of purchase, but also points of social aggregation. There they encounter obstacles such as physical barriers to access, poor arrangement of products, few staff to assist them… These complications make them feel more and more excluded, to the point that they stop going shopping. Should we let marketing and business interests come before the comfort of this group? Giulia Sacristan.
