An unfortunate scene took place on Saturday at Matmut Atlantique in Bordeaux, as a preamble to the 16th final of the Coupe de France between the Girondins and OGC Nice. This did not take place on the pitch but in the stands: two groups of supporters got into a fight.
This clash started after the arrival of the Nice fans, in the parking lot reserved for them. Some of the 150 Riviera fans present fought with the Bordeaux group North Gate. A fence separated the belligerents but they scaled it, according to an AFP journalist present in the stadium.
The confrontation lasted around ten minutes, before the CRS present around the stadium intervened to put an end to it. The Nice parking lot was initially emptied, before the supporters could return to their places. In videos posted on social networks, jets of smoke can also be seen.
The kickoff of the match was postponed by four minutes. But the intervention of the police finally restored calm to the stands and the game was able to start in good conditions.
