The Cuban mother, Dariannis Hardy Rodríguez, desperately asked for help for her son, named Alain, a 15-year-old teenager whose life is in serious danger due to a chronic illness.
In a conversation with CubaNet, he said that since his birth, Alain has faced serious health problems, since his lung maturation stopped, a situation that unfortunately tends to be lethal for many patients.
Despite his fragile condition, the boy has fought to stay alive over the years, although desperation grows as his condition worsens.
Doctors have indicated that lung diseases such as the one he suffers from are irreversible, with a progressive deterioration that ends up affecting the function of the organ.
It should be noted that Alain was initially diagnosed with Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia, but it was ruled out 15 years later, leaving his mother without clear answers about his situation.
His hardest moment came recently, when his breathing became severely complicated, forcing the family to move him to Havana, where they performed more exhaustive studies.

Once at the National Legal Institute of Pulmonology, doctors confirmed that Alain suffers from severe pulmonary obstruction, and the only treatment available would be a lung transplant, an operation that is not performed in the “medical powerhouse” of Cuba.
In that sense, the Cuban mother calls for a humanitarian visa, which would represent a ray of light in the midst of anguish, since it could offer Alain the opportunity to access the necessary treatment abroad.
