Cuban Post intervenes on package sent from Spain

by times news cr

A Cuban resident in Spain, Idisleidys Sosa, publicly denounced a deception by the Cuban Post Office, after sending a package to her uncle on the island.

According to his story, the package, which contained a cell phone and two pairs of glasses, was manipulated during its transit, and when it reached its destination, instead of the cell phone, the box contained screws and packets of chicken broth.

This happened after Sosa sent the package from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in the Canary Islands, to Perico, Matanzas, using the Cuban Post Office service, but although the glasses arrived in good condition, the cell phone disappeared.

“It’s disrespectful. You trust an institution to send a package to your family and you receive something like that,” the Cuban woman expressed indignantly before the independent press.

He detailed that the package arrived in Cuba on September 27, according to online tracking. However, it was not until October 1 that his relatives on the island learned that the package had been picked up by Correos transportation in Matanzas.

Finally, on October 16, they were notified that they could pick it up at Perico’s office.

The package, according to his cousin who picked it up, already showed signs of having been partially opened. When they opened it in front of a Post Office employee, they discovered that the cell phone had been replaced with screws and chicken broth.

“Look, auntie, they stole my dad’s cell phone,” the victim’s daughter is heard saying in a video shared by the family, while her uncle lamented what happened.

The affected relatives filed a formal complaint with the Cuban Post Office, where they were told that due to the lack of electricity, the claim was received manually and they were asked to return the next day to try to resolve the situation.

This case joins many of this type, in which Cubans are affected by the irresponsibility of this Castro company.
