In an environment marked by the economic difficulty that Cuba is experiencing due to the dictatorship, a woman in Havana recently experienced a pleasant surprise when a boatman, in an unusual act, charged her less than usual for his service.
This is Daily Pérez Guillén, who shared his feelings on the social network Facebook, in addition to congratulating the driver of the vehicle.
“Everyone is not the same. There are those who, even in the midst of rampant inflation, try to serve without abusing, which might seem like semantic nonsense, but it is not.”Daily commented.
“It has charged its clients less than what is usual, and with a difference depending on the section. Something like you shouldn’t lose all hope. My seatmate even thought that the driver had given him too much and was going to refund him.”he added in his publication.
A similar case occurred in October of last year, when another boat driver was the protagonist of a kind act by not charging his passengers and suggesting that the money saved be used to buy cookies for the girl of one of them.
This event, publicized by Laritza López, quickly went viral, reminding many that solidarity still finds its space in the streets of a Cuba besieged by the crisis.

These acts of kindness not only provide economic relief to those who receive them, but also sow seeds of hope and unity in a community that is increasingly plagued by misery and unrest.
“I gave him the cost for me and my daughter, and that man told me: ‘No, if I’m not going to charge you, that’s so you can buy cookies for the girl.’ I, very surprised, to be honest, just said to him: ‘Seriously, thank you very much, sir.’ Honestly, I was left speechless.” López said at the time.
