Chennai: The Madras High Court has ordered the Juvenile Justice Committee to transfer the case related to the case of a fellow student tying a yellow rope to a schoolgirl in Chidambaram, Cuddalore district.
A bench comprising Justices PN Prakash and Anand Venkatesh came up for hearing in the matter of a fellow student tying a yellow rope to a schoolgirl in Chidambaram, Cuddalore district. Condemning the student’s arrest, the judges then suggested framing new rules on police handling of POCSO and juvenile crimes.
Further, the judges ordered the Cuddalore Juvenile Justice Committee to transfer the investigation of the case registered by the police department regarding the tying of a yellow rope to Manivi and recommended the Chief Justice to set up a special session to investigate the case as the police have to issue orders from time to time regarding the handling of POCSO and juvenile crimes. Justice Anand Venkatesh should be present in that special session, the judges have mentioned in the order issued.
