Authorities’ version of missing giraffe
José María Casanova, current director of the Culiacán Zoo, stated in recent days that when he took over as head of the enclosure on November 17, the giraffe was no longer there; However, he had not requested reports on the whereabouts of the animal.
In his statement, Casanova speculated that perhaps the giraffe was part of a trade with another zoo or even that it had died, but he was unaware.
The statement clarified that the Culiacán zoo currently has a specimen of giraffe that visitors can feed and thanked them and the general public for their understanding, thus “closing” the case of the missing giraffe.
