Dallas police would investigate Kelvin Joseph, Cowboys player, for a murder

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Kelvin Joseph, was traveling in a vehicle from which a man received a fatal shot a couple of months ago, reported the player’s lawyer.

Cameron Ray, 20, was shot around 2am on March 18 in front of a nightclub in the Lower Greenville entertainment district in Old East Dallas, according to a Dallas police statement.

A recently released video showed two groups, one of which was part of Ray, involved in a brief altercation outside the nightspot. In the images you can see a Black SUV driven by Joseph’s group, and shots were fired from at least one of its windows, wounding Ray, who died a short time later at a nearby hospital.

“Kelvin Joseph did not shoot Cameron Ray”, said Barry Sorrels, the player’s lawyer. “Ray’s death is a tragedy and Kelvin extends his deepest condolences for the loss of the family. He found himself in a situation that escalated without his consent. Along with condolences to the family, Kelvin apologizes to the Dallas community for be close to the incident,” he added.

A spokesman for dallas police declined to confirm Joseph’s involvement in the case, but The Dallas Morning News reports that detectives intend to question the cornerback selected in the second round of last year’s NFL Draft.

In this regard, the Dallas Cowboys shared a statement where they assure that “the organization is aware of the possible connection of Kelvin Joseph” that is why the franchise has remained in contact with the Dallas police.

While Kelvin’s attorney claimed that Joseph he was an unarmed passenger in a vehicle from which Cameron Ray was shot and killed.”

And according to the NFL portal, the Dallas police at the moment will not confirm identity of a person.

Everything will be done “until the person is charged, arrested or actively sought in relation to the crime.
