Daniel Noboa calls himself “crazy” for the second time in less than a week – La Nación

President Daniel Noboa has coined the word ‘loco‘ in his speeches, after the ADN bench assured that the Assembly is seeking to remove him for mental incapacity.

President Daniel Noboa was in the south of Quito on June 26 to present 40,000 higher education scholarships, focused on low-income women. In his speech, the President tried to distance himself from the accusation of misogyny behavior that his detractors have made against him, ensuring that the female gender is the protagonist in his administration.

“The new Ecuador that this crazy man is building is going to be one full of possibilities, where you are the protagonists of your life, where you have access to education and a job,” said Noboa, who again described himself as ‘crazy’.

This is the second time in less than a week that Noboa uses this word during his interventions, and it occurs after the National Assembly’s alleged attempts to remove him from office due to mental incapacity. Last week, the ruling AND party indicated that the Legislature was trying to debate Noboa’s alleged mental inability, and seek his dismissal, something that is denied by legislators from other political parties such as the PSC and Correismo.

Since then, the president has been coining the word in his speeches and has turned it around in his favor. “I am crazy for wanting to serve my country,” he said on June 21 in Santa Elena. In the Assembly, meanwhile, an investigation is announced against the head of the ruling party, National Democratic Action (ADN), Valentina Centeno, for ensuring that an attempt was made to destabilize the country with a declaration to that effect.
