Danny Avdia got a chance to score the first winning basket in his career – but what happened since that chance he would rather forget.
Washington suffered a dramatic 119:122 loss tonight (between Wednesday and Thursday) against Brooklyn at home, in which Avdia was blocked on a critical shot, lost the last ball and finished with 17 points (5 of 10 from the field, 1 of 3 from three, 6 of 8 from the penalty box) , 12 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal, 2 turnovers and a plus-minus index of -3 in 38 minutes.
The Israeli returned to the floor after missing the previous game in Chicago due to illness and recorded his 11th game in a row with at least 14 points, but was unable to surpass in money time and the Wizards’ three-game winning streak, their longest of the season, came to an end. Paul looked like the star he was expected to be with a season high of 38 points (15 of 24 from the field) along with 8 assists and 7 rebounds, Kyle Kuzma also returned to the floor and added 10/6/24, Marvin Bagley scored 18, Kispert 15 and the starting center Rishon Holmes was injured and did not return. The team from the capital of the United States dropped to a 2:0 record in games that went to overtime (they also lost to the Los Angeles Lakers away).
For Brooklyn, which rose to a 45:28 record in 11th place in the East, Thomas reached his 38 points on 52% from the field (14 of 27).
