Kiltimagh Mourns the Loss of Darragh McDonagh

A beloved member of the Kiltimagh community, Darragh McDonagh, passed away peacefully after an illness, demonstrating remarkable courage and dignity throughout his battle. He was surrounded by his family and received exceptional care at St Joseph’s Ward, University Hospital Galway.
Darragh’s passing has deeply affected those who knew him, leaving a void in the hearts of his loved ones. His life will be celebrated this weekend with a series of events honoring his memory.
A Life Remembered
Born and raised in Cois Abhann, Kiltimagh, Co Mayo, Darragh was predeceased by his grandparents, Liam and Eileen McDonagh of Kiltimagh, and Tommie Joe Byrne of Cloonterrif, Knock. He is survived by his heartbroken parents, John & Marie McDonagh, his brothers, Cathal and Ronan, and his grandmother, Mary Byrne, of Cloonterrif, Knock.
The family also extends to a wide circle of aunts – Deirdre Kearns, Geraldine Donnellan, Nuala Wilker, Breda Hickey, and Louise Byrne – and uncles, Ronan McDonagh, Dominick Byrne, and Liam Byrne, along with numerous aunts and uncles-in-law, cousins, and friends.
Funeral Arrangements
Reposing will take place at the family home, Cois Abhann (F12 H264), Kiltimagh, on Saturday evening from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., offering an opportunity for friends and neighbors to pay their respects.
The funeral cortège will depart from the family home on Sunday afternoon at 12:40 p.m., proceeding to the Church of the Holy Family, Kiltimagh, for Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. Following the service, Darragh will be laid to rest in Kilkinure Cemetery.
