The 32nd World darts Championship will take place in London’s “Ally Pally” until the beginning of january. Fans have been visiting the legendary concert hall every year since 2008.

When and where is the game played?
From 15 december to 3 January at Alexandra Palace in north London. The West hall of the “Ally Pally” with its 3,500 seats per session has been busy for a long time. But as has been the tradition since 2008, fans are making a pilgrimage to the darts mecca on a hill in the Haringey area.

Which stars are there?
Everyone has a rank and a name. From Michael van Gerwen to Michael Smith. Raymond van Barneveld, Gary Anderson and a host of other crowds are also starting again.
All matches are knockout duels. The number of winning sets increases from three to seven from the first round to the final. It takes three “legs” to get a row. Whoever spends from the starting value of 501 down to zero gets a leg. Each leg must end with a hit in the doubles area.
Which German players are at the start?
Kai Gotthardt and Niko Springer celebrate their debut in ”Ally Pally”. If Springer survives the first round, he will face former world champion Rob Cross.

How profitable is the World cup of Darts?
In total, prize money equivalent to 2.9 million euros is available. The reward increases with each round. The entry fee is 7,500 euros, and a good 60,000 euros is due for the quarter finals. The winner takes home around 580,000 euros.
There is a special bonus for a so called nine darter. Anyone who plays a leg to zero as quickly as possible will win almost an additional 73,000 euros. Michael Smith achieved this feat at the 2023 World Cup final against van gerwen, which is considered the best darts match in history.
Who is the defending champion?
Luke Humphries – the English recently won 7:4 against shooting star Luke Littler. The two are considered favorites again, and revenge could be achieved in the semi-finals.
