The Latvian Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (LBSF) informs that athletes will be able to practice the start run at this start stage in all seasons.

“I really hope that this ice-free start overpass will make a significant contribution to the next chapters of the success book of the sports of rennes,” said Andris Pārups, a member of the board of the Latvian National Sports Center, at the opening event.

On the other hand, the coach of the Latvian bobsleigh national team, Sandris Prūsis, revealed that the athletes have already done their first training at the new starting platform.

“It gives me great pleasure and satisfaction that we are standing here and discovering something in these times. I remember the beginning of the process when we started talking about the possibility of having an arena. Then the possibility that there could also be a flyover dawned, which at first seemed almost an unreal event, but those events began to develop and the flyover is now built,” the coach said.

“The flyover is really good and we are very happy with it,” he added.

Latvian men’s bobsleigh crews, single bobsleigh player Amēlija Kotāne, Latvian skeleton players, as well as Slovakia’s women’s bobsleigh doubles crew with pilot Viktorija Chernianska have already trained on the overpass.
