On July 14, 2022, Ivana Trump, ex-wife of former US President Donald Trump, died in her New York apartment as a result of falling down the stairs. On the occasion of her birthday on February 20th, daughter Ivanka Trump remembered her mother on Instagram.
“Today would be your 75th birthday,” she writes on an older photo that shows Ivana Trump in a captain’s costume at the helm of a ship. “I imagine you sailing through the sky, guided by the stars,” said the 42-year-old. “We raise our sails in your honor, Mom, we navigate life with the compass of your love and your fearless spirit. We miss and love you,” she concludes.
“A wonderful mom”
In her Instagram story, Ivanka Trump shared more photos, including from Ivana Trump’s time as a model. She was also a “pioneering businesswoman” and a “world-class skier for the Czech national team.” But above all, “a wonderful mom,” said the 42-year-old about a photo in which she can be seen with her brothers Donald Jr. and Eric as children at her mother’s side.
Ivana Trump, who was born in the Czech Republic, competed in skiing for the Czech junior national team in her youth and later studied sports science in Prague. After completing her master’s degree, she emigrated to Canada with her first husband, an Austrian, and worked as a model after the divorce.
On a trip to New York in 1976, she met the entrepreneur Donald Trump, and she was married to him from 1977 to 1990. Two more marriages followed, with the Italian businessman Riccardo Mazzucchelli and the actor Rossano Rubicondi.
