Ramgarh: A suspended RPF policeman has been sentenced to death by a court in Jharkhand’s murder case of a railway porter and his wife.

Ashok Ram was a milk trader in Railway Colony in Ramgarh district of Jharkhand. He was doing this business in between working as a railway porter.

On August 17, 2019, Railway Protection Force constable Sheshnath Singh, who lived in the same colony, asked Ashok Ram to give him milk. As dues were due, he refused to give milk.

Enraged, Sheshnath Singh shot Ashok Ram, his wife Leela Devi and his pregnant daughter Meena Devi with a gun in his hand. Three of them died. Ashok Ram’s other daughter and son escaped unhurt in the attack.

The police registered a case and arrested RPF constable Sheshnath Singh who was hiding in Bihar. After this, he was suspended from duty.

The trial in this regard was going on in the Ramgarh District Additional Court. The court passed judgment in this case yesterday and ordered death sentence to Sheshnath Singh who killed Ashok Ram’s wife and daughter.
