It has been decided to make the maximum age limit for entry into government service 32 years.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the interim government’s advisory council on Thursday (October 24).
According to a press release issued by the Cabinet Department, through discussion in the Advisory Council meeting, the policy and draft of the Maximum Age Limit for Direct Recruitment in Government, Autonomous, Semi-Autonomous, Statutory Government Authorities, Public Non-Financial Corporations and Self-Governed Organizations Ordinance, 2024 Final approval has been given.
As a result, the maximum age limit for entering the service of all cadres of Bangladesh Civil Service will be fixed at 32 years. Besides, the maximum age limit for entering all government jobs outside the scope of Bangladesh Civil Service will be fixed at 32 years.
According to the notification, in the case of autonomous, semi-autonomous organizations, self-recruitment rules will be applicable subject to necessary adaptations. In the case of Defense Services and Law Enforcement Forces, respective recruitment rules will remain in force.
On October 14, the committee formed in this regard submitted a report to the government recommending the raising of the maximum age limit for entry into government service.
