Large-scale protests have been taking place in Canada for the past two weeks against an order issued by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that truck drivers crossing the Canadian border must be vaccinated. Trade between the United States and Canada has been particularly affected as protesters have blocked the economically important Ottawa Bridge.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has declared a state of emergency across the country to suppress the protests. Accordingly the protesters will be arrested immediately and their trucks will be confiscated. Truck-based corporate bank accounts will be disabled. Vehicle insurance will be suspended. Trudeau also ordered the immediate reopening of bridges blocked by protesters.

The city of Ottawa in Canada has been besieged for the past few days with huge trucks causing a stalemate. It was attended by drivers with thousands of trucks. About one lakh trucks were said to be involved in the siege. Thousands of trucks lined the highways for miles and became the talk of social networking sites.
The Government of Canada has now ordered an inquiry into how the source of funding for those who coordinated the struggle was obtained. Millions of dollars are said to have been raised for this struggle.
