Anyone who has registered their company on Google Maps wants the data there to be correct. This is how you can change or delete your entry.
Address, telephone, email address, opening hours: Company data should always be up to date in Google Maps. For example, if your company moves, you can adjust the Google Maps entry and change the address details.
To do this, log in to your company profile via “Google Company Profile”. At the top of the screen you will find the “Manage now” or “Edit” command on the right. Go to “Edit profile” under the Google search mask. Now find the information you want to adjust from the list. You can change an entry in these categories, among others:
- Company Name
- Address (company location)
- Contact details (telephone, website, email address)
- Type of company (category)
- opening hours
- Description
- Photos
When you click on the respective entry, an input mask should open in which you can edit the text passages.
Important: According to Google’s official support page, deleting or changing individual details can take up to 30 days. Normally this is done in 10 minutes.
Delete entry in Google Maps
In the event of a company closing or going out of business, you can request that your entry on Google Maps be deleted. Here’s how to do it step by step:
- Go to Google Maps on your computer.
- Sign in with the same account you used to register for the business profile.
- On the map, click the company you want to remove.
- Click “Suggest a change” on the left.
- Click “Close or Remove.”
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
After you submit the application to Google, it will be reviewed. If your application is approved, the business will be removed from Google Maps.
