“Myeong’s officials are suspected of purchasing land before and after the announcement of the industrial complex.”
The Democratic Party of Korea’s ’Myung Tae-gyun Gate Fact-Investigation Team’ decided to visit the Changwon industrial complex site on the 15th to investigate the suspicions of ‘political broker’ Myung Tae-gyun’s involvement in the designation of the Changwon 2nd National Industrial Complex.
The ‘Changwon Industrial Complex and other suspicions of state intervention investigation headquarters’ within the fact-finding team held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Center in Yeouido, Seoul on this day and said, “Now that the circumstances of unfair interference in national projects have been revealed, the Democratic Party will uncover the true nature of this incident to the end.” revealed.
Representatives Yeom Tae-young, Kim Ki-pyo, and Heo Seong-moo from the investigation headquarters said, “Mr. Myeong received a confidential document from Changwon City officials around October 2022, five months before the announcement of the Changwon Industrial Complex, and when the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport inspection team came on November 23, 2022, he personally guided them. He claimed, “Also, there was testimony that Kang Hye-kyung was instructed to produce the banner a day before the candidate site was announced.”

They said, “As a result of analyzing the transaction history from January to March 2023, 69 out of 77 transactions (89.6%) were conducted in restricted development zones.” They also said, “In addition, 158 real estate ownership transfer registrations occurred from May to December 2022. “The number of applications skyrocketed to 210 in the three months from January to March 2023,” he claimed.
They said, “Out of a total of 368 applications for ownership transfer registration during this period, 102 cases were incorporated into industrial complexes, and 9 out of 66 ‘sales’ cases were in the form of share purchases, and there were also cases of ‘land shopping’ for more than two parcels at a time. “The number reached 13,” he said, adding, “The possibility of speculators’ involvement is suspected.”
They also said, “Suspicions have been raised that Mr. Kang, who has been in a business partnership with Mr. Myeong, spent over 800 million won to buy land of about 2,700 pyeong near the site just before and after the announcement of the new Changwon Industrial Complex,” and “Changwon Industrial Complex candidate site.” “The suspicion of selection corruption now appears to have become a case of power-type corruption,” he said.
