“The first days were difficult, I had a lot of phobias, I thought I was going to be kidnapped. I didn’t have a mobile phone, I didn’t speak the language.”

Denia Agalianou was welcomed to the set of The 2Night Show with Grigoris Arnautoglou. The well-known model and actress, who has a great career in Mexico, opened up to the ANT1 camera about her decision to be on the other side of the Atlantic and follow her dreams there.

“It’s been many years now but I feel like it was yesterday. I have been in Mexico for 11 years now. I was born in Zakynthos, we moved to Atalanti and at 17 I came to Athens to model. That’s how I found myself at GNTM. It was roasting in space”, says Denia Agalianou.

“At some point I didn’t want to stay anymore, I had packed my bags and the production told me: when your time comes, you will leave. I met Ioanna there and she told me about Turkey, she had a career there. We became friends, hung out in Turkey and my path began there. For about two years I was back and forth all the time. A friend in Turkey told me about Mexico and invited me there,” she continued with her description.

“I left for Mexico in 2013 for three months. The first days were difficult, I was very scared, I thought I would be kidnapped. I didn’t have a mobile phone, I didn’t speak the language. From the first day I managed to cover my expenses for three months. I went to solutions for ads but it wasn’t helping me. So a girl introduced me to her agent. I had to learn Spanish in three months. I watched all the famous soap operas from the beginning. I am self-taught”, says Denia Agalianou then.

“I uploaded a photo and wrote “my country” and everyone wrote to me below: we didn’t know you were from Greece. Now they give me Mexican roles. There were people who told me I wouldn’t do it,” Denia revealed Agalianou, noting that she was in a total of 13 Mexican productions.
