Department of Public Health Centenary Marathon

A marathon race was held in front of the Ranipet New Collector’s Office today on the occasion of the centenary celebrations of the Public Health Department.

The program was presided over by Collector Bhaskara Pandian and welcomed by Deputy Director of District Health Services Manimaran. Handloom and Textiles Minister R. Gandhi attended the event as a special invitee and flagged off the marathon.

The marathon started from in front of the new collector’s office and proceeded along the Chennai Chittoor highway to Chipkot, Pulianthangal and ended at Bell area.

More than 100 people including doctors, health inspectors, health workers and nurses participated in the marathon.

Similarly, a marathon race was held in front of Tirupattur District Collector’s office. The program was presided over by Dr. Senthil, Deputy Director of Health Services. Collector.Amarkushwaha. Inaugurated by Kodiyasaithu, Tirupathur Assembly Constituency A. Nallathambi MLA presided. Collector, MLA, doctors, school students, public health workers, 350 people participated in the mini marathon. Revenue Commissioner Lakshmi, Deputy Director Health Services Dr. Senthil, District Panchayat Committee President N. K. R. Suriyakumar, District A. Chairman S. Rajendran, Municipal President Sangeeta Venkatesh, District Sports Officer Abdullah, Tahsildar Sivaprakasam, District Medical Officers Local Government Representatives, Health Department Employees, general public and others participated.
