Today, Friday, Nasser Al-Assadi, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Transport Affairs, set the date for announcing the winning company for implementing the “Baghdad Metro” and “Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf – Holy Karbala Train” projects.
Al-Asadi told the (INA), “The investment portfolio for the (Baghdad Metro) and (Najaf-Karbala Train) projects was presented on February 12, and some companies purchased the portfolio and are currently waiting for them to submit their technical and financial offers to be analyzed and then Officially referring the project to the best offers submitted to us.”
He added, “The announcement of the winning company to implement the two investment projects will be on April 12.”
The Prime Minister’s Advisor for Transport Affairs, Nasser Al-Asadi, previously explained the details of the Baghdad Metro project.
Speaking to the (INA), he said: “The project consists of 7 lines with a length of 148 kilometers and 64 stations, and it contains the latest and most advanced international systems.”
He added, “The project will cover 85 percent of Baghdad’s area, and will pass by universities, public markets, and religious shrines, as well as stadiums, ministries, and important places.”
The Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibas Al-Saadawi, revealed earlier the details of the road and railway project between Karbala and Najaf.
Al-Saadawi told the (INA): “The railway road between Holy Karbala and Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf will be 80 km long, and it will be an investment project with very high international standards and at a speed of up to 250 km per hour.”
He stated, “The Ministry is determined to complete it, as it will greatly reduce the burden on visitors, especially during the million visits,” explaining, “The second phase of this project will start from the international station in Baghdad, and it is another investment project that starts from the international station in Al-Alawi, then Babil Governorate, and then Karbala.” The Holy City and the Holy City of Najaf.
