Karthik Narain made his directorial debut with the 2016 film ‘Pole Sixteen’. He is currently directing the action thriller ‘Maran’ starring actor Dhanush. The film stars Malavika Mohanan, Samuthirakani, Smruthi Venkat, Krishnakumar, Balasubramanian, Mahendran and Aamir in the lead roles.

Composed by GV Prakash Kumar, the film is produced by Satya Jyoti Films. The film was shot in Chennai and Hyderabad from January last year. Filming for this movie is currently complete. It was reported that the film would not be released in theaters and that the film crew was in talks with the OTT site about the release rights.
The release of Ajith’s long awaited movie ‘Valimai’ has been postponed due to the corona spread as it has been announced that it will be released during the Pongal festival. It has been reported that Dhanush ‘Maran’ will be released on Disney Plus Hotstar OTT in February. Official information on this is expected to be released soon.
Netflix OTT is reportedly planning to release Dhanush’s thriller ‘The Gray Man’ in Hollywood in June or July this year. Both the films are currently out on OTT as Dhanush starrer Jagame Tantra and Atrangre have already been released on OTT platforms due to corona restrictions.
