He also questioned the lawyer in the case who conspired to endanger the investigating officers. Adv. Sajith was questioned by the crime branch team. Balachandrakumar had said that the lawyer had tried to influence him by making crucial revelations in connection with the case. The interrogation is based on this. The lawyer told investigators that Balachandra Kumar had told Dileep that he had intervened to get bail. He was told he was in financial trouble. ADGP S Sreejith said that the interrogation of the accused, including Dileep, was in its final stages. At present, only partial examination of the seized digital evidence is available. The interrogation is progressing on the basis of scientific evidence. ADGP S Sreejith said it was not yet clear whether Dileep would be taken into custody.
Meanwhile, Vyasan told mediapersons that he had identified Dileep’s voice from the voices of director Balachandra Kumar in the case of the attack on the actress. Along with Dileep, he has also identified the voices of some others. Vyasan said he knew people including Dileep. I have been in contact with them for years. According to the crime branch, Vyas had given contradictory statements to Dileep regarding matters related to the Bishop of Neyyattinkara. The crime branch said it had received more evidence against the accused.
The High Court extended the hearing of the case by 10 days. The action is based on the application of the prosecution. Earlier, the deadline was January 26. But the government argued that it was not practical. The trial court adjourned the hearing till Friday in connection with the attack on the actress. One of the adjournments is Dileep’s court negligence petition against DySP Baiju Paul, the investigating officer in the case.
