Director General of Avtomatika Concern Detained in Fraud Case

The Presnensky District Court of Moscow received a petition for the arrest of Andrey Motorko, Director General of the Avtomatika Concern (part of Rostec). This should from the electronic database of the court.

A petition for a measure of restraint was filed in connection with Motorko’s accusation of fraud – Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (large-scale fraud). The meeting is scheduled for June 30th.

The arrest of Motorco was requested by the Moscow Department of the Investigative Committee (IC), whose employees detained the concern’s general director. The investigation asks to send him into custody until August 27. The court clarified the agency that a similar petition was filed against the head of one of the divisions of the concern, Alexander Nesterov.

June 28 Kommersant informedthat the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on the fact of fraud in Avtomatika against unidentified persons. The investigation believes that the concern gave out for its development antenna systems for vehicles purchased in China. However, Avtomatika received a subsidy of 300 million rubles for these purposes. On June 28, searches were carried out at the enterprise.

In June, it became known that the Ministry of Industry and Trade sent materials to the UK about the facts of possible fraud by the Avtomatika concern. The Ministry conducted an audit, during which it found out that the company uses software purchased in China in the devices being developed, and the concern does not have source codes for it. The components of the antenna systems are imported, which is contrary to the terms of the contract.
