The East German brand Fit wants to get fit for the future – and is looking for a buyer. There are personal reasons for the owner behind this.
The dishwashing liquid manufacturer Fit from Hirschfelde, Saxony, may be facing a change of ownership. “We are currently in a phase of carefully examining various future options for the company. Discussions with potential interested parties are ongoing, but no concrete decisions have been made so far,” the company said. There had previously been reports about a planned sale in the “Lebensmittel Zeitung” and the “Sächsische Zeitung”.
The company quotes its founder, managing director and partner Wolfgang Groß as saying: “After all, I am almost 73 years old and now I have to examine the best options for the future of our company. It is time for me to address the topic of the future of Fit GmbH to put us on a secure foundation in the long term.”
The company’s advisory board is supporting the owner in this process with professional advice, it said. “It is extremely important to us to find a reliable buyer who will preserve the company culture and secure the jobs of our employees.” They recently announced an investment of 25 million euros in expanding production. “In recent years we have invested over 200 million euros in building one of the most modern production sites in Europe.”
The Fit GmbH company not only produces the hand dishwashing liquid of the same name, but also dishwashing liquid for dishwashers, household cleaners, detergents, fabric softeners and cosmetic products. The company currently employs more than 250 people. For 2023 it estimated sales at 363 million euros.
