jpnn.comJAKARTA – Deputy Chairman of Commission IV DPR RI Ahmad Yohan stated that he would directly monitor the Government’s policy of increasing farmer purchasing prices (HPP) for grain and corn and not importing a number of food products in 2025.

“Pak Prabowo’s policy is extraordinary for the welfare of farmers and the food self-sufficiency program. “Because of that, the DPR will ensure that this policy is truly implemented and the benefits are felt by the people,” said Ahmad Yohan in his press statement to journalists, Tuesday (31/12).

Commission IV DPR, said Yohan, as the Government’s partner in charge of supervising and overseeing policies in the food sector will immediately hold a meeting with parties such as Perum Bulog, Ministry of Agriculture, National Food Agency, and other parties.

“Soon we will have a meeting with Bulog, Ministry of Agriculture, Bappenas and others, to discuss and ensure how this policy is implemented and well monitored,” said the PAN politician.

Yohan also reminded related parties not to mess around with the policies issued by President Prabowo.

“Don’t let there be cases where the HPP for grain and corn has increased, but purchases by Bulog are still below the HPP. “Commission IV will also check directly whether the purchase of grain and corn is in accordance with the HPP,” he stressed.

Previously, the Government decided to increase the farmer’s purchasing price or HPP for grain commodities from IDR 6,000 per kilogram to IDR 6,500 per kilogram, and HPP for corn from previously IDR 5,000 per kilogram to IDR 5,500 per kilogram in 2025.

“Whatever farmers produce grain and corn will be accommodated according to the price set by the government,” said Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Tuesday (31/12).
