In Tamil cinema, films that give importance to heroines do not come often. But, in recent times, such films are coming at certain intervals. Casting a heroine as a car driver is new to Tamil cinema. If the director Kingslin had also thought of a lively screenplay to think of such a new plot, this Driver Jamuna would have been even better.

Aishwarya Rajesh, his daughter, is taking up the job of car driver that he used to do after his father’s murder. A mercenary team sets out to kill former MLA Adukalam Narine. They happen to go in Aishwarya Rajesh’s foot taxi. The Assistant Commissioner is scrambling to one side to catch the mercenaries. Aishwarya is caught in the clutches of mercenaries. Mercenaries descend inside Adukalam Naren’s house to help him kill him. What happens in this situation is the rest of the story of the film.

The director has designed a car journey as the entire screenplay of the film. A lot of exciting incidents could have been added to it. A good chance to freshen up what are the pros and cons of being a female car driver. The director left it unused.

Aishwarya Rajesh chooses different characters from other leading heroines. He has chosen such a character in this film as well and played it well. But still have some compelling scenes for him. Climax is the only chance for Aishwarya to act well. Until then he has been shown as a fearful being. A flashback about Aishwarya could have been given more pressure if the audience had been prepared beforehand.

Apart from Aishwarya Rajesh, Adukalam Naren is the only known face. His son is played by Manikandan Rajesh. Abhishek, who plays a music composer who travels in Aishwarya’s car, gets tough. The mercenaries in the car are acting dramatic.

Filming a car trip is no easy feat. Cinematographer Gokul Benoy took a risk and shot the scenes. Gibran background music is okay.

It seems that it would have been better if the screenplay had been set up so that we could sympathize with Aishwarya’s character from the very beginning. That’s why we don’t feel sorry for him when he tells some truths in the climax. Might have changed my mind a bit.
