It was the restaurant manager who alerted the police when he saw the children alone in the McDonald’s play area. The police therefore brought the children back to the police station where they offered them croissants to satisfy their appetite. The eldest, without being able to explain where they lived, will tell the investigators that it was not the first time that they had been left alone by their parents.
It is almost an hour after the parents of the two children, including their pregnant mother, presented themselves to the police stations. The father of the family was placed in police custody for “neglect of minors”: he will explain that he went to reinflate the tires of his car. If his police custody was lifted at the end of the afternoon, also reports France Bleu, he is summoned to court on September 25.
