Title: Dua Lipa Faces Multi-Million Dollar Copyright Claim Over Hit Single “Levitating”

Date: [Current Date]

Singer Dua Lipa is currently battling a multi-million dollar copyright claim over her hit single “Levitating.” Musician Bosko Kante filed the legal action, alleging that the star incorporated his recorded work with a talk box into remixes of the song without obtaining permission.

The talk box, a wearable device that transforms vocal vibrations into musical instrument sounds, is the subject of the copyright dispute. Neither Dua Lipa nor her label, Warner Music Group, have responded to the claims as of yet.

“Levitating” is one of Dua Lipa’s most celebrated tracks from her 2020 album “Future Nostalgia.” The legal action, filed in Los Angeles on Monday, demands more than $20 million (£15.6 million) in damages.

According to Reuters, the court documents state that while British-Albanian star Dua Lipa had permission to use the talk box on the original recording, she lacked authorization to include it in any remixes. Nevertheless, it is alleged that she reused Bosko’s work without permission in subsequent releases, including The Blessed Madonna remix featuring Madonna and Missy Elliott, another remix featuring DaBaby, and her performance at the American Music Awards.

Bosko’s legal team claims that their client resorted to legal action due to Dua Lipa and her label’s “unwillingness to cooperate or accept responsibility.”

This is not the first time Dua Lipa has faced copyright claims over “Levitating.” In June, a court dismissed a complaint filed by reggae group Artikal Sound System. However, a separate claim by songwriters Sandy Linzer and L. Russell Brown remains ongoing.

Dua Lipa, who is currently making waves in the charts with her song “Dance the Night Away,” has yet to comment on the recent copyright dispute.
