A number⁣ of economic experts criticized the visits made by Turkish officials to Baghdad because⁤ they were dealing with Iraq as if it were under ‍turkish tutelage, while at the same time reducing the ⁣importance of these visits.

In an interview with Agency, economic expert Hamza al-Jawahiri said, “turkish officials, in their previous visits to Iraq, were dealing as if they were guardians of ‌Iraq.”

He stated,⁤ “The turks impose conditions for purchasing Iraqi oil at prices lower than the world price, and they demand the⁤ cancellation of⁢ the fine imposed by‍ the Paris court. ⁣These matters were repeated again by the Turkish ambassador, and⁢ all of them are fundamentally unacceptable ‌and violate ‌national sovereignty.”

He stressed that “the Turkish Minister of Energy’s recent⁢ visit to Iraq had a political content, even though it also included economic files.”

For his part, economic expert durgham Muhammad Ali pointed‌ out, in an interview with ⁤ Agency, that “there are many outstanding issues between Iraq and ‌Turkey,‍ including water ⁣and oil, in addition⁤ to the compensation file in the ruling of the International Trade Court. These are arduous‌ files and ‍the ⁢ceiling of requests from the Turkish ‌side is high.”⁣ .

He explained, ‍”iraq does not currently need oil exports through the ⁢Turkish pipeline, because the entire quantity agreed upon within the (OPEC+) agreement is exported through the ports of Basra at a higher value ⁢and without traffic fees.”

He pointed out ⁢that “any agreement that will occur will not‌ be within the ceiling of Turkish demands, and its economic‍ benefit will be⁢ greater for Turkey. There are two pressing issues, which are water⁢ and the ⁢road to growth, from which the iraqi side must obtain the highest‌ ceiling of gains.”

Yesterday,Wednesday, the Turkish Minister of Energy visited the⁣ Iraqi capital,Baghdad, and discussed with the Iraqi Oil Minister,Hayan Abdul-Ghani,bilateral relations in the oil and energy sector.
