“The region of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab is one of the most dynamic regions of Morocco, thanks to the development model of the southern provinces, launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in 2015,” noted Ms. Benyaich in front of an audience of African and Arab ambassadors and around a hundred Spanish businessmen and business leaders present during an economic forum focused on the investment opportunities offered by the Dakhla-Oued region Eddahab.
This development model has enabled the implementation of various structuring programs to support the development of the region in several areas, such as port infrastructure, energy, agriculture, maritime fishing, tourism, training, culture and the environment, detailed the diplomat.
“Today, we must take advantage of these assets and the advantages offered by this region, as well as the historic moment in relations between Morocco and Spain, to support Spanish investors in the Kingdom in a win-win spirit,” argued Ms. Benyaich.
Under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco launched a “realistic and constructive” African policy, promoting fruitful South-South cooperation, making Morocco a regional and continental hub, she further underlined. .
In this context, Ms. Benyaich recalled the launch, in November 2023, by HM the King of the Atlantic Initiative in favor of the development of Atlantic African countries and including the Sahel States, thus betting on regional integration which offers great opportunities for economic, social, security and environmental transformation.
Around a hundred investors and large Spanish companies from various sectors of activity, such as Iberdrola, Renfe, Alstom, Vectalia and Repsol, took part in this forum organized at the initiative of the Madrid Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Moroccan Embassy in Spain.
Several panels, led by officials from the Regional Investment Center, were organized during this forum, focusing on the “business climate and investment opportunities between the Dakhla region and Spain” and “Morocco sectoral strategies -Dakhla region.
The interventions also focused on the presentation of the new port of Dakhla Atlantique and investment opportunities in the sectors of trade, tourism, industry and aquaculture in the region.
