With the aim of strengthening the Ecuadorian agri-food sector and increasing its presence in the international market, Ecuador has launched the Global Bioexporter Program 2024. This initiative, developed in collaboration with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), the Consortium of Governments Provincial Councils of Ecuador (Congope) and the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries (Mpceip), seeks to promote the sustainable development of the country.
In this edition of the show, special attention has been placed on the US market, with a particular focus on the West Coast. This approach is due to the characteristics of consumers in this region, which offers a unique opportunity for Ecuadorian companies to expand their presence abroad.
The program has the participation of 169 micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), of which 17 will be beneficiaries after meeting the export readiness criteria. Through hybrid training on various topics such as markets, labeling, regulations, certifications, logistics and export prices, these companies will be prepared to enter the international market effectively.
A crucial part of the program includes product testing with the North American community residing in Quito, scheduled for October 1, 2024. In addition, a Virtual Business Roundtable will be held on October 17 of the same year, where participating companies They will have the opportunity to meet with buyers in the food segment for the west coast of the United States.
As a final step, the Guayaquil Macrorrueda will be held from November 11 to 13, 2024. This event aims to promote triple diversification (products, destinations and actors), facilitating the generation of contacts in international markets.
The Global Bioexporter Program 2024 not only represents an opportunity for Ecuadorian companies to expand their commercial horizons, but also contributes to the strengthening of the country’s agri-food sector and promotes long-term sustainable development.
