After publishing his first work a year ago, the president of the Democratic Union of Guinea (UDG), also a businessman, president of the Futurelec Holding Group, Elhadj Mamadou Sylla proceeded this Thursday, April 25, 2024, to the dedication of his book “man and his destiny, economic aspect”. The choice of the name of this work of 2 chapters entitled “man and his destiny. Economic section”, of 122 pages is inspired by the region and it is common to everyone “your destiny”.

In this autobiographical work, the Ambassador of Conakry, the African capital of books, evokes several facets of his life at the time of Ahmed Sékou Touré, General Lansana Conté, the time of the CNDD and Alpha Condé, but also the passage of the state economy to the liberal economy. Unlike his first book where he talks about his political life, his meetings and his ambitions for Guinean politics, this other work of his rich career as a businessman, from his beginnings and until his rise to being the one of the richest men in the country.

It should be remembered that this dedication of the second book by the man we affectionately call Sylla Patronat was attended by his friends, relatives and families, such as the president of the High Authority of Communication Boubacar Yacine Diallo and the former Prime Minister Ahmed Tidiane Souaré but also great personalities from Senegal and Ivory Coast,…

In his communication, Elhadj Mamadou Sylla recalled that the words fly away but the writing remains and this is one of the reasons which pushes him to write. “I explained in this work how a man must do, going from seriousness, how you must work, I explained the commitments, the respect of the word given. You can be rich, it is God who gives the money but there are also criteria. Because when he gives you the money or the means but you have to work to earn. So you have to be serious, the people you hire, whether with individuals, with suppliers or with a bank. When the bank gives you 10 francs and you pay it back, if tomorrow you need 1000 francs, it will give you. If you take 1 billion you pay it back tomorrow if you come for 10 billion she will give you. That’s how I worked,” explains the Guinean tycoon.

According to the CEO of Futurelec Holding “Every time I see a deficit somewhere, or the State has abandoned it for the private sector, I immediately approach there, I create this unit. This is what allowed me to create air transport, land transport, Futur-Agri (agriculture) and Buildings. (…) The secret of success is respecting the word given, you have to have the courage, to anticipate things, you also have to plan”

According to the successful businessman, man should not lose hope since it is by practice that one becomes a blacksmith. “When there was the rebel attack in 2000, the state needed a lot of vehicles, there was no one who had vehicles in stock and I had purchased stock with me, instead that the State should go and take it elsewhere, besides it had no money, so every time I think that the State might need it tomorrow or someone else I buy it I guard, so that’s anticipating things”

Furthermore, Mr. Sylla advises young people to have the courage, to have self-confidence, to go for it, to move forward, to always draw inspiration from renowned entrepreneurs and large companies. And that’s how God will help you.
