The emergency vessels Skandi Mongstad and Esvagt Bergen have been cooling using seawater from a distance throughout the day.

Equinor’s emergency response was alerted today at 04:40 about smoke development in the control room on the Sleipner B platform in the North Sea. The vessel Scandi Mongstad has been mobilized to the area.

Sleipner B is an unmanned production platform located in the Sleipner West area, 12.5 kilometers away from the Sleipner A platform.

Production has been shut down, and the facility has been depressurized.

Equinor’s emergency response organization has been mobilized, and relevant authorities have been notified.
