In the project, the majority deputies want to extend the exceptional contributions into 2024.

As the finance bill arrives in committee at the National Assembly next week, the text is already starting to break records: more than 2,800 amendments have been tabled on the tax aspect alone. Among these proposals, the vast majority will not appear in the text that the government will probably pass via 49.3.

But, despite the narrow room for maneuver, the majority deputies are fighting hard to leave their mark on the 2024 budget. The Renaissance group tabled around thirty amendments, several of which – those accepted by the government – will be included in the final text.

This is the case of the amendments concerning the “super contribution from energy companies“.
