Energy transition, sustainable development and green industries: more than 400,000 jobs created by 2040 (Ms. Benali)

Speaking at the regional summit “MENA YES! 2024”, dedicated to youth employment solutions in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, the minister indicated that the forum highlights important topics, including youth employment in key sectors, particularly in the energy transition, sustainable development and green industries sectors.

Explaining that these sectors are experiencing a radical transformation constituting great employment opportunities for young talents, Ms. Benali noted the importance of mobilizing all means in order to find solutions which “will lead us to a transformation not only in these sectors, but also in the methods of training young people.

For the minister, this meeting is a way to strengthen visions and ideas, particularly with regard to the modernization of training methods to adapt to developments and to prepare young Moroccans for employment opportunities by 2030.

And to conclude that his ministry manages, with partners, several training institutes in the fields of renewable energies, energy transition and mines, in several cities of the Kingdom, such as Oujda, Tangier and Ouarzazate.

The “MENA YES!” summit aims to create a space for cross-sector collaboration where each participant will contribute to the development of innovative solutions for youth employment in the MENA region, by actively integrating young people.

The two-day program features interactive sessions, workshops and roundtable discussions on artificial intelligence, digital economy, economic opportunities for women and green and circular jobs, as well as mental health and psychosocial support.
