The Dessau-based engine manufacturer AEM has filed for bankruptcy, but things are continuing there for the time being. There is hope for a solution.
The Dessau engine and generator manufacturer AEM has filed for bankruptcy. The company has apparently suffered high sales losses due to high interest rates, rising material costs and customers’ reluctance to buy, reports MDR.
However, company boss Reiner Storch told MDR that they were confident that they would find new co-shareholders in the coming weeks. The first interested parties have already registered. The goal remains to maintain the company. The wages of the 150 employees will still be secured until the end of November. “Until then we have room to bring new partners on board,” said Storch.
The company, founded in 1872 under the name Bamag, produces generators for hydropower and ships as well as engines for construction machinery. According to its own information, AEM works as a supplier for customers all over the world.
