What to do with a pile of waste collected at a recycling center? Rolling bottles… Tchak! Dong! Clap ! Badaboom! Cryik! Sounds, obviously. In a drumming show that mixes dance, singing, theater, circus art and percussion, four young French artists from the company Trash! are the crazy workers of a recycling center, in the style of the famous British troupe Stomp.
In this factory, sorting is anything but boring. The task, on the contrary, becomes creative when the workers discover, in their dumpsters, obsolete objects with immense sound potential. « Oooh »exclaims one of them upon discovering an umbrella in perfect condition. « Wouhou », continues the second by tapping it on the ground in rhythm. Without a second thought, the group gets carried away and the stage transforms into a frenzied sound machine.
Then comes alive, in familiar melodies, sometimes soft, sometimes energetic, a long list of trash: tool boxes, gas canisters, plastic bottles, old lamps, trash bags, balloons or umbrellas. Here, no hierarchy, everything is good to vibrate. In excess you will no longer consume, you will give objects a second life: such is the ecological statement defended, which could be even more accepted.

The idea is original, the execution perfect and synchronized. It is a real lesson in virtuosity offered by the four artists, Clarisse Brillouët, Sidi Biggy, Konan Kouassy and Satryo Yudomartono, the latter alternating with Harold Gazeau. Especially since, the show having been originally created and performed by another Spanish quartet in 2021, the challenge of repeating it with gesture, sound and mime was significant.
For the pleasure of the public, of all ages, it is an hour and fifteen minutes of astonishing rhythmic sensations, certainly, but of laughter, too. Like clowns, the workers address us with humor, all onomatopoeia, grimaces and crazy dances. At the factory, even the spectators have their role to play, and their voice to raise. From the start, moreover, the instructions are clear: “Open the floodgates!” » So, we don’t hesitate to open them. We clap our hands, we drum our feet, we sing and we shout. And it feels good.
